XS4 PORTABLE PROGRAMMING DEVICE

The SALTO Portable Programmer Device is the messenger between the computer and the lock.

The SALTO PPD has a multilingual interface.

Key Functions:

  • Initialize the locks: The XS4 PPD permits operators to assign the basic data – including access zones –  to each lock during the system set up, programming the information necessary for start up.
  • Electronic lock diagnostic: The XS4 PPD enables operators to obtain the diagnostic status of the electronic locks. It collects data such as the lock’s firmware version, serial number, available memory, battery status, the lock’s system assignment, and lock date and time.
  • Emergency opening: The XS4 PPD allows emergency door openings in the event the key has been lost, when the lock is in privacy mode, or if the lock's battery life has expired and it isn't possible open the lock as usual.
  • Collect audit: The XS4 PPD collects all the events that occurred and were recorded by the lock. This data can be downloaded for analysis.
  • Update locks: The XS4 PPD updates the lock with the latest access plan data, including system time and cancelled keys blacklist.
  • Firmware update: The XS4 PPD updates the lock firmware in order to enhance the performance and the reliability of the device.

ENCODERS

The SALTO encoder is a compact device which reads, encodes and updates cards.  It is available in different versions depending on the PC connection (USB or Ethernet). It also permits automatic key issuing in large and complex properties, enabling users to carry out key assignment simply by having the encoder in a busy area where the user can get their card assigned just by presenting a card to the reader without any assistance required from the access control manager.

Key Functions:

  • Lock initialization: The encoder enables operators to assign the basic data to each lock during the system set up, programming the information necessary for the start up.
  • Read key: The encoder reads the information held in the card  (username, issuing date, expiry date, available memory, the access plan data, and other kinds of information such as information on tracks, ROM code, etc).
  • Card encoding: The encoder allows operators to issue or encode the user key cards, assign the user access profile information on card, and program the card with latest cancelled key card black list (SVN).
  • Delete key: The encoder can also remove all the information contained on the card, allowing a card to be reused, reducing the structural costs of the system.
  • Key updating: This function allows the updating of all of the information on any ID carrier. This includes adding he latest information concerning the user access profile. In addition, during the update, the cancelled key blacklist is recorded/updated on card and the access events made are collected for download to PC for analysis.
  • Communication flexibility: The encoder is available it TCP/IP (Ethernet) or USB versions. The TCP/IP version interfaces with Bluetooth and and can act as a dongle that permits data encapsulation that enables use with services such as JustIN mSVN, JustIN Mobile or integrations.
